Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, but will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
