Tehran States It May Return to US Atomic Talks provided that Approached with 'Dignity' and 'Respect'
Tehran is willing to restart atomic talks with Washington as long as it is treated with "dignity" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has announced.
The Iranian diplomat stated exclusively dialogue was effective, and shared recent overtures had originated from mediators to restart negotiations with the American leadership. He said Iran had zero secret atomic facilities, and Iran was not yet able to authorize the International Atomic Energy Agency to access struck enrichment centers for protective measures.
Navigating a Challenging Path
Araghchi is walking a difficult route since Iran does not want be seen to be proceeding from a position of weakness, and he emphatically stated that Iran had arisen stronger militarily and psychologically from the coordinated strike on its nuclear sites in June.
He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to enrich uranium on home soil that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the impasse in the earlier negotiations.
Prior Discussions Suddenly Terminated
The previous five rounds of talks between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious termination on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, targeted Tehran's atomic facilities in a 12-day war that culminated with the US president claiming the facilities had been eliminated. Subsequently, European countries employed their privilege to reimpose UN-wide sanctions, but Iran insists they have not had a significant effect.
Magic Solution Offered
Iran's diplomats claimed they felt they had reached a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was settled an local partnership with Washington's engagement could refine atomic fuel. Each party would have been able to assert triumph since home-based processing would have continued and the US could be certain that Iran's enrichment initiative was exclusively peaceful.
It had not been decided in the discussions that American atomic experts could operate on Iranian soil, but that was a logical implication of the consortium proposal. Officials asserted repeatedly they had reached agreement with Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff only for the deal to collapse due to "spoilers in Washington".
Present Position
Iranian officials stated the cooperative arrangement was now withdrawn, but it seems highly likely the suggestion could be reintroduced in some form if negotiations restart.
The US president in recent days stated he had been receiving messages that Iran desired to resume discussions, but privately Tehran representatives say they are not yet obtaining consistent overtures from America either straightforwardly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as Qatar, Egypt, Oman and the Saudi kingdom. The Iran's state department has been charged of inactivity in the aftermath of Washington's unmediated tactics, but Tehran asserts negotiations is not part of a performance.
Diplomatic Stance
In his speech to the gathering, aimed to depict the US as a hegemonic power that exploits the concept of global regulations, the foreign minister declared the two-week conflict revealed the dispute could not be ended by military means. He asserted the attacks started with a Washington's ultimatum for an total Iran submission and culminated with an unconditional call for a halt to hostilities.
Iran is certain the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were carried out with full US knowledge and coordination, making trust difficult to reestablish.
Negotiations Remains the Primary Resolution
Araghchi declared: "Tehran was not the one that had fled diplomacy; it was America and the Western nations that had consistently tried to enforce their demands during the talks. Diplomacy can still be alive and stays the ultimate solution to resolve disagreements, but its criteria, regulations and tenets must be adhered to."
"If they talk to the Iranian people with the language of dignity and honor, they will receive a answer in the same approach."
Recovery and Recovery
In what is described by Tehran representatives as the battle of recovery and reconstruction, the foreign minister said he was certain Iran's defence capabilities "have significantly improved than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been reestablished. We gained numerous insights from this engagement; we have come to know our personal limitations and the shortcomings of the enemy."
He continued: "We managed to survive this engagement. Our enrichment knowledge, which they planned to eliminate, continues to exist. The facilities and machinery, if damaged, will be restored; what is essential is the will of the Iranian people and then the social solidarity that they targeted, but failed to shatter. The Iranian people have developed stronger, more cohesive, and more supportive of the government and the country in the wake of this invasion."
