The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to send a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project aims to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Featured Artists

The track was produced following a solidarity show held in the autumn. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The impressive roster of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a range of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of producers and composers. The song blends a fusion of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have clarified that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These resources will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson said. “We aim for whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was described as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of infrastructure said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions won't make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from later in the month.
